Shunned by the human townspeople around him, Shrek is a cynical, no-nonsense creature, whose swamp has been overrun by annoying fairy tale creatures, including the Seven Dwarfs. He sets out to make the evil king remove them but finds himself on a quest to rescue a beautiful princess from a fire-breathing dragon instead.
