I read a bunch of terrible reviews about this and was not going to go, but ended up getting dragged there. I thought it was going to be so bad that we would walk out, but it ended up being alright all things considered. The fact that I was primed for the worst parts might have helped. If you plan to go into this, understand the following: Joaquin Phoenix isn't really playing Napoleon, he's playing...
A Hollywood classic that is incredible beautiful, but lacks good story-writing. The movie also left out several dramatic historical scenes, such as Marc Anthony's speech at Caesar's funeral, and many details regarding Cleopatra's deadly rivalry with her brother. Even though the ending is dramatic, the movie leaves me feeling it is unfulfilled for some reason that is hard for me to pinpoint exactly....
He tried to kill the cat. For that alone he deserves death. Parallels to The Broken Tower in the poet's strained (to put it gently) relationship with his father, who in both movies is played by a man who doesn't seem well suited to play anyone's father at all--too young, with too high-pitched a voice. Also surprisingly strong parallel to Genius, three years later, though this is of course more overtly...
Entertaining but sprinkled with anti-white moments. They just love to throw in woke sh*t randomly. 2 examples of this: One random street scene there is a interracial couple kissing and another street scene is some gay guy. Also several instances of immigration propaganda. Another example. They are at some sort of banking convention and one of them says this when they arrive: It's like someone hit...
A tedious and mediocre milestone in Jewywood's eternal quest to make heroes out of homosexuals and poor widdle misunderstood babies out of Black and Brown™ killers
I can't believe how weird this film is, I guess it was made for normie boomer Breitbart viewer types, the script and characters only exist to familiarize the audience with political zeitgeist buzz words, terms, and framing that most people under 35 are light-years past. Only watch if you like to cringe laugh
An essential boomer truth regime movie. This film is full of anachronisms, Continuity errors, Errors in geography, and Factual errors. Its a movie over three hours long with pacing that is horribly askew making it hard to enjoy as anything other than suffer and persecution porn for people with a preconditioned one-sided frame of reference
It's a WhiteManBad movie set during the space race, and loosely based around a real negro woman who worked as a computational expert for launch calculations and whatnot. I think the real plot was originally supposed to be overcoming odds to succeed in going where no man had gone before, but after shekelberg&cohen got their hands on the script, the end result is constant woe-is-me moments by the...
None of the characters are lovable. The Steve Jobs film was about how a crappy father and unbearable business partner was eccentric, innovative, and still somehow charming. The snappy dialogue keeps you on the edge of your seat the whole time and the motivations for each character are as clear as day. You feel for them all and are ambivalent about Steve, but walk away with an overall inspired tone.
In...
Two stars BUT WAIT, THERE’S MORE!
It’s very difficult to pull off a truly compelling ‘I found Jesus’ movie that isn’t a bit schmaltzy. This is an overall well enough done movie that tells an interesting(and true) story that is reassuring to believers (I am one) but doesn’t do ‘quite’ enough to push the unsure, agnostic or atheist over the Jesus Goal Line. That said, it’s an ok film,...
I wanted to respond affirmatively to SteadyHands' review but it won't let me. Anyways, mediocre pro-integration propaganda set when Whites were still (rightfully) apprehensive about being forced together with blaques as gunpoint. It's a koombaya everyone hold hands happy ending movie that tastes particularly bitter given how Whites are being raped and murdered by blaques with impunity now, as was the...
I am disappointed because I thought the movie would be more hardboiled and more intense portrayal of the Wild Bunch gang's comradeship. Instead the focus is only on the friendship between Butch and Kid, as well as a strange relationship with Etta Place and both men. In reality, she was the girlfriend of Sundance Kid, but in this movie, she's portrayed as having a romantic connection with both men....
The first 40 minutes of the film were okay. I got sucked in and was super pumped about it, to be honest. Sure, it was cheesy, but it was a relatable white cast with the American entrepreneur spirit. Then it slowly started sneaking in more and more "diversity" and equated literal freaks in a freakshow with African Americans. (Really shows what the left thinks of their pets.)
This is just the same...
Where to begin. The whole trust of this film is that war with Germany has to begin in order for Hitler to be usurped in a military coup. There are affirmative action casting choices such as having a black man as a senior civil servant in 1930s Britain along with an Indian woman spy who even plays the whole "I'm actually from Nottingham" cliche on the protagonist. The word "racist"...
When I need a laugh, I put Schindler’s List, the movie, on
Moss is ugly enough to play Jackson. and I'm a Jackson fan but not a Moss fan she does a thing with her nose and face that makes it seem like she can't stand her own smell
linking and repeating my response to somebody else's reply to this guy's review as my review for this skanky old Satanic hag's documentary give him a like or a reply too. letterboxd.com/tsj/film/marina-abramovic-the-artist-is-present/ ==================================================== Emma Pearl 1y So let me get this right... you’re mad that a famous person (who worked for 40 years to get...
I was forced to watch this propaganda in an American school as a kid. We've all seen this kind of propaganda a million times before. It's all so tiresome. In short, it's a movie where we indulge in racism and how sport unites everyone in a happy society. The purpose with the movie is to get whites aligned with the integration program
James Franco unsimulated gay oral is wild. (Though I really have to wonder what possesses straight guys to star as cocksuckers? Hollywood Humiliation Ritual is one thing but this was an entirely voluntary student art-piece--a 'passion project'.) Unfortunately also the only interesting scene in the whole thing. Cringe-inducing low-budget undergraduate trash full of anachronisms and monologuery. Features...
If you’re going to the movies on a Friday night and have to choose between a historical film about female mathematicians or a thrilling action movie about a former CIA agent, which one would...
