Idk if you saw, but I tried hiring someone to manage social media and post relevant memes. Well, you get what you pay for (and I can’t afford professionals quite yet) so I left for 2 months without checking up on her. Turns out she was posting gore and normie memes and unrelated cat videos. Guess my instructions weren’t clear. Needless to say, I immediately discontinued that and deleted all her social media posts. ?♂️ Likewise with a guy trying to help with SEO. All that came from that was now each site tab now says “Is X woke?” which I’m not sure even helps us rank higher.
All that is to say that I’ve given up on trying to grow it as a top priority. At least for the time being, and instead view ZR as an artist collective type project. A webzine or journal so that even if you leave and never write another review, at least there will be a collection of reviews and musings for ppl to look at. Same for if we never get hockey stick social network type growth. The work put into it thus far still has value.
So, I’ll focus on improving features and UI gradually until I can secure some more money to do it quicker. In the meantime, your feedback is always welcome and we’ll prioritize it. But feel free to come and go as you please.
( Also, in regards to the younger folks: I’m trying to get a banner ad on AmRen or other sites so we get a more diverse ecosystem. More classic movies and articulate old guy reviews to balance out the shit posting and anime obsession. I went to the 2024 AmRen convention and got a few older fellas to contribute reviews too. You just might not know which of us are geezers. ? )

Sorry, bear with us. Trying to improve the UI and make it so you can add custom tags and custom ratings. But it’s a game of telephone and experimentation and discussion. Now that we have regular users it might be a better idea to finalize a feature before publishing changes to the site. We’ve always just done it step by step. But please be vocal if you feel like. That way we know what to reverse or what to double down on. Will add your “random” suggestion for the review widget soon. We also fixed the edit/delete option users requested but are still tinkering and getting the UI right for that.
there’s overt homoeroticism daubed over the entire movie, how is that not woke? every sex joke has to be about guy-on-guy. the joke where the desk jockey has a crush on deadpool it’s a guy. when deadpool makes jokes to the soldiers about raping him they’re guys. the single case where it’s not a guy, it’s a black woman. otherwise heterosexual attraction is verboten. like yeah compared to deadpool 2 with the horrid dykes in it, it’s far less woke. but don’t try and make out that it has no woke in it.

Its my absolute favorite movie ever.
This movie is paced terribly and Fraser’s performance is board-stiff; Silverstone is grating and bitchy. Yet somehow, once it gets going, the story resonates deeply with the modern-fatigued viewer. It’s pretty telling that Christopher Walken first ventures out into the ‘post-apocalyptic’ world and encounters an aggressive tranny prostitute. Back then I guess that would have been considered hilariously absurd. Back then it would have.
This whole movie is just vertigo porn. The trick works for the first forty minutes but they totally overuse it to the point where it’s just annoying.
Biggest shame to me is it could have been a decent commentary on addiction/substance abuse, pride/chasing fame, and modern women refusing to age gracefully, but instead of an ending that ties those themes together and says something, it’s lolsorandumb cheap gore shock porn. Disappointing.

We tried to make it as easy as possible to post reviews without confirmation links sent or any of that, since fighting network effects is hard enough. But situations like this may be rough. I agree 100%. And again, if some rich donor said to go back to RightWingTomatoes, I’d do it in a heartbeat. And I know it seems weird right now because my grand vision is far from complete. It’s still just a movie review site. So why not RightWingTomatoes? But ideally, we will have books, music, and help filter new media (like a customizable DrudgeReport that puts Odysee/Rumble/BitChute/random blogs all in one feed). If that is what the site looked like now, I think the new name would make more sense. We filter the subcultures and zeitgeists online. But even so, I didn’t know that most people don’t even know what “zeitgeist” means, lol. Fuck man… really wish I had the money to pay marketers and branding and all that. Just fumbling in the dark. Ah well. Still, I think it’s more harmful to keep switching names back and forth, and mentally I just view this as a side project for the time being. Too frustrating otherwise. But I’m with ya, man. Oh, and for what it’s worth, none of you guys knew but that initial rebrand was also because I was on a mission applying for grants, loans, and legit institutional support. I mean, I went balls to the wall, tons of networking events, tons of applications, cold calls, cold emails, meeting mentors, etc.
So it wasn’t just a marketing thing, it was also: “How can I make this project presentable to normies and banks?” But even the most legit start ups struggle to get capital if it’s not a brick and mortar business with existing profit. Especially if you don’t have collateral or rich parents. So there were other things going on behind the scenes for my rationale. But the dust has settled and I’m open to whatever. ?

It’s for the very reasons you point out that it’s better not to overtly call it something with right-wing in the name, simply because it draws the wrong crowd. I hate lefties as much as the next guy, but the poltards are hardly an improvement. It is interesting hearing how serious you were taking this though. For books there have been a few guys who tried to setup a goodreads alternative, but my experience with those sites was that they were full of thin skinned reddit types who can’t take a joke. My reply is becoming pretty directionless, so I think I’ll cut it short before it turns into the review equivalent of Captain America Brave New World, or worse, Elizabethtown…but I would like to say that as someone whose voice has been kicked, flattened, banned, branded, and shoved unnecessarily into dark, tight places–it is nice to have a place to vent after watching utter dogshit.
