Hadn't watched this since it first came out. It still stands up to this day. Love the music in the intro/outro. It gets a bit dull in the middle episodes but redeems itself with an amazing conclusion. Love the characters and anti-hero elements. Ryuk has one of the best character designs in any anime ever. I'm getting my gf into anime and I'd highly recommend this one for beginners. There's a lot of absolute garbage fan service/cookie cutter/degen anime that gives the genre a bad name. Or ones that go on for 600 episodes with filler. Start with this, "Cowboy Bebop," "Samurai Champloo," any Ghibli films, "Demon Slayer," "Attack On Titan", etc.
