My Fair Lady is a musical drama adapted from the stage musical of the same name, which is based on the play, Pygmalion. The film follows professor 'Enry 'Iggins...*ahem* Henry Higgins (Rex Harrison), who is so confident in his phonetics abilities, he makes a bet that he can transform any Cockney working-class person into someone who could pass for a cultured member of high society. His subject is Eliza Doolittle (Audrey Hepburn - Paris When it Sizzles), who agrees to learn from Higgins to improve her job prospects—but their plan is threatened when the handsome, aristocratic Freddy Eynsford-Hill (Jeremy Brett - Movie 43) enters the picture. My Fair Lady won eight Academy Awards, including Best Picture, Best Actor (Rex Harrison), and Best Director.
