Glad I watched this classic. But don't get your hopes up. The analogy about aging seems to be the only depth to the film, and the special effects are too dated to allow yourself to sink into the action. Any other interpretations are likely just from the viewer's point of view after the fact. As expected, it's based on a novel (whose cover art is rad as f). Great movie about the need for strong father figures and why we like structure and discipline. As well as the reddit tier โproblem of evilโ atheist argument. God, the universe, whatever you believe, has put threshold guardians there for you to become who you are. You can't have the positive without the negative. But mainly it's just inspirational and relatable. The bromance reminds me of that "Hannibal"...
