The creators have a genuine love for the original work its based on and it shows. Unlike Ryan Johnson or the Velma creators or the countless other reboots that sh*t on the original and its fans, Kobra Kai is a big circle jerk. Which, if you’re going to make a cashgrab, is how it should be. Nothing is woke about it, they just joke about generational differences in a lighthearted way. However the diversity...
Apparently it’s a remake of a British show. The British show has a black husband and the American has an Indian husband. I’m not too uptight about the forced diversity or interracial couples in everything nowadays. I can usually ignore it or accept it if it feels fitting. Aziz Ansari has a boyish look and in his tv series I don’t remember them being too sweet and cuddly. Very minimal PDA. But...
Ugly and disgusting movie. Burn it. Regret watching it
Pretty good. Started watching it with family. There are creative scenarios that make it fun. I’m only on episode 4 or 5 though and worry about its direction. Sylvester plays an Archie Bunker old guy who complains about blue hair and pronouns. But his sidekick is a black kid who complains about cultural appropriation and racism sometimes. And their main competition is a racist biker gang so I suspect...
Interesting serie based on real characters and situations, including the expansion of South American cocaine mafias into Europe increasing the level of violence and crime. Local actors, no liberal ideologies neither forced diversity. Recommended
It’s feminist propaganda and a movie that make fun of strong man culture
Actually a moderately enjoyable movie is you can suspend your disbelief far enough. It's got a ridiculous storyline, but decent amount of scares. Best of all, very little in the way of forced agendas or politics, aside from an abusive white boyfriend at the start.
Meh is all I can say. This film series really has gone down the proverbial toilet. This one has the same story as all the others ones, but it's even worse due to all the forced gay and lesbian sh*t. Hard pass
Not woke. Pretty funny but some jokes miss. Overall nice message about how you should quit smoking weed because it makes you retarded
One of the many late 2000 dudebro movies I've been watching lately. It's better than anything new, but it will never be a great filmgoing experience. It's why remakes and reboots are so popular, it's not just the member berries, it's because you want something reliable. Reliably subpar entertainment is better than woke trash. Besides, Judd Appatow killed it with Joker and his talent shines through...
Pretty good series, every character is white and no gay sh*t aside from one seen where a dude cross dressing but it was in context of a joke that you would have seen in any show from the past. Plus the shows free
I've never watched this til just now because I always thought I would hate it being a remake of a classic series with a younger, "hipper" cast and a female angle about it. I was wrong. It's quite excellent for modern standards. First off it's visually stunning and the effects are well done and over the top in a good way. Secondly there's more going on than the typical slasher or dumb horror film...
Slapstick gross out bro humor with a few uncomfortable moments where P Diddy is cucking people but it's funny and there is no message other than recovery
CrossWalk is right: "Jumper is a premise without a sufficiently interesting story to support it." Bad acting with no chemistry or motivations that make sense. Had to stop it at 34:00 and couldn't finish it
It was a 2.5 moreorless. Cute premise. Cheesy and over the top most of the time. Good cast all in all
stupid but funny stupid but funny stupid but funny stupid but funny stupid but funny stupid but funny stupid but funny stupid but funny stupid but funny stupid but funny stupid but funny stupid but funny
Prolly more like a 2.5 than a flat 2, it's not a horrible movie, just kind of underwhelming.
Not super woke from what I could tell (aside from the obvious anti-colonization tree-hugging hippie themes) but overall not a fantastic movie and it kinda pales compared to the first one. You could see it if you want to though.
You could actually argue there's some pro-family messaging in here. Jake Sully...
Got bored and quit on episode 8. The show has a lot of potential but it's all about tests and awkward teens. Not much progression or action. No deep philosophy or artistic expression to make up for it either. The jazz soundtrack was a nice touch but didn't stand out with any memorable tracks. Skip it unless someone wants to watch it with you. It's bearable but very meh
When I was a kid my father forgot to hide the vhs with The Matrix movie. My unprepared brain got indoctrinated into distrust of authority and general paranoia towards reality in one watch. The best thing that ever happened to me, prepared for the judgement days ahead. As for matrix4 I don't remember anything from it
Think about it - a rainbow field appears, it mutates everything, turning normal stuff into some abominations. Reminds you of anything? A tradwife with a masculine military man loses him to the RAINBOW. A bunch of "damaged goods" as they self identified women also vanished, consumed by the RAINBOW. It's pretty clear that the authors hid the message in the movie, that is actually so obvious...
