Very overrated I think. I wonder if it's just Americans who like it for patriotic reasons. Just scenes of flying around in circles mixed with romance and bro stuff. I guess 90% of the value lies in the intro and outro, and the music. A little degen, but nowhere as bad as modern stuff. Still, if your family isn't ''sexual'', I wouldn't watch it with them. Â
Don't miss this one, unique take on zombies in media and shows the power of psychological horror in a low budget environment
This is probably one of the most disgusting series I have ever watched. It is not merely the provocational style (episode 7 takes it all), but the utterly unrealistic wishful thinking of a perverted minority. I am not talking about their being gay, but the false mirror the writer is portraying society in. Perhaps the best example is the totally a-sexual encounter on the beach of a gay person with a...
I have a hard time describing why this series annoys me, while I still enjoy watching the monster action, which is pretty much the only reason to sit through most of it. Despite the fact that there is very little of such action (I guess the budget had to be limited, which is ironic if that's the only thing keeping the series afloat). The most annoying part is probably that the script seems to have...
Like many modern movies, this would be a lot more tolerable if half of it were cut. The premise is engaging and they came up with cool scenes, but all this is dragged down by characters who were intentionally written to be dislikable. It's a sad credit to the movie that it doesn't really vilify any demographics, but only because everyone comes out looking like a villain. The kids are bad-mannered...
This is a dissenting opinion compared to the other reviewers - I had to double-check that this was indeed the same film. I remember getting excited for this after hearing the premise, and I even thought it was good up until the raft scene. After that, the narrative and action fell off a cliff of anti-Western propaganda. The film is chock-full of historically-inaccurate crimes that it blames Westerners...
Anti-human clichés but stunning visuals and violence
Studio Ghibli never disappoints. ( It's a Jap version of "The Borrowers." )
Free on YouTube. Gorgeous aesthetics and pretty solid story. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p9_oRfkdvWw
This movie is a top-down propaganda
bit too long
I read a bunch of terrible reviews about this and was not going to go, but ended up getting dragged there. I thought it was going to be so bad that we would walk out, but it ended up being alright all things considered. The fact that I was primed for the worst parts might have helped. If you plan to go into this, understand the following: Joaquin Phoenix isn't really playing Napoleon, he's playing...
Of course Morgan Freeman is the genius doctor. He's alright though. And any feminist subtext is mainly from her revenge story but she's magic so let it go
Gameplay: Good melee/shooter horde game. Combines L4D with skills and builds giving it a great amount of replay ability that I felt was lacking from L4D. With the recent update there are at absolute minimum 12 different ways to play between the 4 classes that you can sp*ce up in whatever way you want, whether it is to combine different paths, or equipping unique weapons to experiment with. There is...
I thought gluten free options were just hypochondriac yuppies in California making sh*t up. I am not allergic to anything and pride myself in my robust mind over matter Chad body. Stomach of steel and the like. But after years of treating the symptoms of IBS by isolating things that exacerbate it (stress, coffee, sp*cy food, not enough probiotics) I finally found the real reason. It's the toxic glysophate...
Usually avoid financially supporting anti-white movies but got dragged along. Wasn't worse than I expected, and I have Catholic taste so I was able to enjoy myself well enough regardless of the anti-white themes and how mediocre it was. But half-way through (around when they start mentioning "black wall street" out of nowhere) even I couldn't appreciate it and became offended. In one scene where a...
Great if you can handle subtitles
A fairly good horror film that adapts Lovecraft's "A Color Out of Space" to modern times. At times the acting feels somewhat forced, however the movie seems to try to lean into this as an old B-movie aesthetic. The movie leans heavily into body-horror, however it does have one jump scare during a scene where the Mother and Father are driving home from the hospital. From a story perspective,...
As someone who’s s played the game growing up, I really enjoyed the back story and how it connects you deeper to the characters in the game. It was definitely nostalgic to see the animatronics or scenes of the main character being present in the surveillance room. The movie isn't how you think it'd be, it has similarities to the game but not very game based which can be disappointing but it's all...
I wish the ending credits showed first. These are all based on true stories. The dialogue is taken from court documents and letters back then. If you know this going in, you can be more patient with the weird speech and historical accuracy of devout pilgrims. It keeps you guessing and is tense, but it's A24 so expect slow and poetic
