Full disclosure-I never liked Richard Gere in any role. That said, no actor could save this failure from its horrible and tedious script writing and slow pace. There are no characters here which you care about...you just want it over. The premise is that three kids have killed a homeless man for fun, and what their parents are trying to do to protect them from the consequences of their actions.
 
Not a bad plot, but done so badly you wish you'd saved your time. Of course, of the three kids, only the Negro is noble and refuses to participate in the murder, and of course he's been adopted by Gere, but forget that bit of PC nonsense-this is just a crap movie with an unresolved ending literally finishing with a  jumble of confused voices. Anyone associated with this garbage should be boycotted forever.
