Enjoyable comedy
André van Duin was until fairly recently a highly popular "stand-up comedian" and stage-actor, who starred in dozens and dozens of comedic shows where he plays the type of the confused, funny guy against the straight man, breaking the fourth wall, improvising on the fly and being an all-round goofball.
Apparently they made some attempts to get him off the stage and into film, which delivered this funny, but overall mediocre film, I haven't watched his other film, but I get the impression that he just isn't the right man for the part, simply because he works best when he has an audience to play too.
On a positive note, with the exception of an Indian man you see in the audience, this film has absolutely no diversity to speak of, on a more negative note, this film like so many films of the periods suffers from what I call "Dutch porn syndrome", this is for all intends and purposes a funny family film, starring a beloved comedian, what where they thinking when they put a nude scene in it?
Seriously, the grating out-of-place nudity in Dutch films from this period, is so dominating, it's basically become a joke of sorts. The result of having a small clique of progressives in control of film production.
