There was nothing woke that I saw but I could immediately tell it wasn't like the other core films in the franchise. None of the characters you have an affinity for come back and it feels very corporate. Paint by numbers. The love interest turned me off and all the same clichรฉs started showing up but were drawn out slowly. I could be wrong because I stopped watching around 10 minutes. But my gut was telling me the magic was gone and the tired tropes and subtle jabs at religious folk would litter the filmgoing experience. Before shutting it off I skipped ahead and skimmed through to see how the plot developed. Still didn't seem worth it. Just now, I googled and this one wasn't based on a true story like the others. So my gut and first impression were right I guess.
