R.L. Stine Accuses Publisher of Censoring Goosebumps Books Without Permission

Childrenโ€™s horror author R.L. Stine has accused his publisher of editing references to weight, mental health, and ethnicity in over a dozen of his books without his permission.

Certain titles from theย Goosebumpsย anthology, second only to theย Harry Potterย books in terms of popularity, have been re-released as sanitized e-books by Scholastic,ย a new report fromย The Timesย has revealed.ย The move comes afterย huge controversy envelopedย the British publisher of Roald Dahlโ€™s books for hundreds of similar changes,ย leading the publisher to agree to continue printing the original versions alongside the new bowdlerized editions.
