I feel like this is a very specific type of movie, where a gruff, conservative-coded neighbor learns to connect with his more progressively minded neighbors and they teach him how to be a decent person who cares about the world while he teaches them how to do basic tasks like fix stuff and drive. See also: GRAN TORINO and AS GOOD AS IT GETS. Tom Hanks is very good in the Eastwood/Nicholson role. Which makes sense, since these are three of the great Hollywood actors of the last 40 years.
Anyway, full review here.
