I had no idea what to expect going into Casablanca. Other than tropes you hear from time to time. set in French morocco before America was entangled in WWII. a very jilted  freedom fighter has all but given up and runs a cantina in town sometimes catering in aiding safe transport out of the old world. after running into a lover he had made back in Paris years before. only to find out she ditched him at  the train station to be with another man. both parties fleeing Nazi regime antics. looking for safe passage out of the city. what goes on is a beautiful story about not giving up on life or the people who love you.
