When I started watching this series I had my hopes up for a good old-fashioned crime show and the first few episodes where good, basically its an over the top cat-and-mouse game between a division of the Chicago police department run by Lt. Mike Torello and street punk and later crimeboss Ray Lucas. Its the very example of hard-hitting, boozing, violent 60's period piece, with an over-the-top criminal investigator, a bunch of sleasy amoral mafia wogs, plenty of drama, people getting killed, explosions, which to be honest bored me some bit, but to make it all sour, we get a nice woke subplot. Yes, I thought I was watching an OK action-packed police-drama, then suddenly BAM! we get a Jewish lawyer character and a bunch of social justice episodes, just BAM! The show is filled with Jews, many of them part of the criminal underworld and even though the woke episodes are fairly balanced, (which makes them more insidious) I am just tired of seeing this amoral stuff. If you like crime shows, you will most likely enjoy this, but you will end up seeing a couple of episodes with shoehorned woke stuff and a second season that kinda jumps the shark.
