the level of puppetry in this movie is 100% no live actors in this films excluding the movement of some of  the puppeteers. lots of time and dedication on behalf of Jim Hinson and his team went into this labor of love.  set in a fantastical world a race of bird like things called the Skeksies vi for control of it through the power of the cracked Dark Crystal, a young Gelfling thought to be the last of his kind sets out to fix the crystal and set the world right.
