Picking up where the fellowship of the ring left off this movie handles the splitting of the fellowship and sets off the chain of events that culminate in the third film. of the three this one seems more like a slow burn until the Finally when it seems like all hope is lost it emphasized that it is better to go down doing what's right than to turn and run when life is at its hardest.
