Based on the H.p. Lovecraft novelette of the same name. This movie gets pretty darn close to the story as I remember it if anything it may have made it more P.C. something I'm sure Lovecraft would not like. thankfully it doesn't detract from the story. It centers around a man pouring over his late uncles notes and discovering something exceedingly dark and mysterious. as the notes culminate the young mans sanity starts to wain. this is a 17 year old silent film.....so its relatively a short watch as far as silent films go.
