Embracer Group, a Swedish video game company, recently acquired Middle-earth Enterprises, which owns the intellectual property and global rights to The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkein.

The deal means that Embracer Group will oversee any motion picture, video game, board game, merchandise, theme parks, and other media relating to the LOTR and Hobbit franchises.
