Old-timey crime classic
Dragnet is the great-grandfather of many modern crime shows, the black-and-white show was an attempt to create a serious, matter-of-fact crime show with an eye for real police work and procedurals. Something the show succeeds in plendidly, during the episodes we follow Joe Friday played by Jack Webb while he and his partner interview suspects, think of ways of catching the crooks, etc most of the times the crooks themselves are very civil and know when to give up. All en all the show is very serious and dry, with well phrased dialoques, some fun banter, two incredibly decent police men and very little action. Though that is the charm of this show. The only bad point I have is that the show which can be found online is usually not in the best state, with bad image and sound quality, even when remastered.
