Hope you're happy, RWT.

I took a girl on a first date to see this movie and it was painfully long and too macho/esoteric for her. She was fidgeting in her seat the entire time in the corner of my eye, while I fawned over 2 hours of nonstop guttural screams. But I regret nothing. Glad I actually went and paid cash for tickets to support good content. And can't recall the last time I wanted to do that for a new movie.

All the other reviews have said what needs to be said. Kino content. Moralizing. Etc.  It's only "Anti-God" if you mean the Christian God, but it was actually tribal warfare between Pagans so you couldn't even really consider it anti-Christian either. So on and so forth. Let me just add a caveat to what the audience reviewer, HenryPelagius, said.
 
I agree that it's our duty to support this film financially so we see more like it. And all the other stuff he said. But I disagree somewhat with this part:
  

 
This movie is not a typical blockbuster film. This is an artsy fartsy esoteric cinematographic orgasm for film nerds. Such high art wouldn't be mainstreamed into Chinese theaters regardless of the cast or plot. And the romance is portrayed through the lens of a man's duty and birthright, so it's really only enjoyable to a very niche demographic from the get go. Therefore, no matter how many of us came out to support it, I doubt it would have been a good counter example for "go woke, go broke." I think looking at "Jurassic World" (2015) and "Beauty & The Beast" (2017) are better examples.

 
But then again, "The Joker" was not 100% aimed for a mass audience due to its artsy nature and character study approach. And that did really well. So I hope I'm proven wrong with "The Northman" and hope it knocks it out of the park internationally. Really not much else to say but:
